About Products
living walls are the muse of luludi living frames with one of our primary tenets of achieving 100% sustainability for all our products and materials. luludi living frames are handcrafted in astoria, ny from local artisans. we also use locally produced materials to support our local economy and reduce the amount of energy required for the transport of our frames.
luludi living frames artisans use mdf (medium density fiberboard) material to construct our frames, usually from recycled materials, and with no discernable grain resulting in a smoother application of paint. The back of the frames are made of sturdy plywood. we also chose lacquer paints to create a finer cleaner finish that provides our frames with a rich and lustrous look that is smooth to the touch. all of luludi living frames' plants are sourced fresh from the best local nurseries in new york and new jersey with the goal of one day having our own self-sustaining garden and greenhouse. luludi living frames' collateral materials are also created with the goal of using sustainable materials. currently, all of our packing material is made from 100% recyclable material with each frame protected by a fabric flannel cover.
in keeping with this goal, luludi living frames' stationary, business cards, notecards and gift certificates are printed on crane's lettra paper made from 100% recovered cotton fibers. according to crane & co., cotton fibers require fewer chemicals and produce far less waste than papers made from trees. luludi living frames also prints our thank you cards on wildflower seed-embedded paper made with post-consumer material, meaning that no new fibers are used in the production of the paper. when the seed card itself is planted it composts away leaving only wildflowers and no waste.
